Kävelykadun varrella sijaitsee tämä ihan hyvä hotelli. Aamiainen on riittävä ja melkein saman sisältöinen kuin kotimaiset. Alakerran baari on laadukkainta antia, henkilökunta on tosi hyväntuulista ja miljöö kiva. Huoneissa tulee varmasti kuuma helteellä kun ilma ei vaihdu kovin hyvin. Ikkunan saa toki auki.

Very poor and aggressive customer service at reception

I have stayed in this hotel already 3 times, as it is the hotel our company uses when we have layovers in Luleå. The rooms are nice and comfy and clean. BUT the service at reception lacks professional customer service skills. We had an incident with breakfast, the issue was (as always seems to have been) that they had no information that breakfast is included in our room rate, as per our company policy. Once again upon checking out, we were asked to pay for breakfast and when we tried to explain that it actually should be included, the woman at reception (blond, glasses) got very defensive and started aggressively saying 'No you have to pay, we have no information!' And when we said we will check with our company and started calling them. Our company answered the phone and said 'yes it is included', my colleague tried handing the phone over to this person at the reception, she shouted "No we need email!". So we got our company to send an email and this woman come from the reception and tried to explain her side of the issue VERY POORLY. Being very accusing and unprofessional with a very aggressive tone of voice to match. She even started pointing at one of my colleagues asking "Have you paid?". I have also found from my others colleagues that emails have been sent on several occasions stating that breakfast is included, how many more emails do you need?? Now as I mentioned I have stayed in this hotel three times and every time this person has been at the reception she has had/has a very condescending attitude towards customers. Even when I have walked past the reception and say 'Hi', she doesn't even lift her eyes from her computer screen. So this is not the first time but this was too much. Our company is paying for the rooms and if you call this good customer service, I am truly shocked! I have worked in hotels for many years and now am still working in customer service, I find this outrageous how badly one gets treated. Luleå does have other hotels to offer, is this what you really want? Getting a steady revenue from a paying guest/company? Such a person should not be in customer service if she/he can't express themselves in a calm and polite manner. This person has neither qualities. Being in customer service, I do know that some days might be tougher BUT you never take it out on customers, NEVER. I would like to receive an apology and see a change made. However, I do not want the usual "Thank you for your review..We are sorry to here...blablabla", as I am fully aware that these are just templates used when one is not bothered to respond or take the time to reply. Hi Joel, I want to start off by saying that I am sorry that this occurred and that you feel like the service is not professional. As you say, some of the guests are supposed to have their breakfast included in the price, per the company policy. There must have been some misunderstanding and we did not notice that you had that breakfast rate in your reservation. I agree with you that there are different ways to express yourself and the information you want to give out. This time we must have lacked on that skill which I am truly sorry for. We will take action in this matter and we will bring it up with the personnel in question. We will see this as an opportunity to improve on our service. We always wants our guests to feel welcomed, seen and nicely treated. And i really hope that we can make you feel this way next time you come to us. Until next time, I wish you a nice summer!
