Clarion Hotel® Trondheim

Entering the hotel hall, one just goes WOW. But where am I going to sleep? Receptionists (plenty) and other staff very helpfull. And each one of them seems to be fluent in at least four languages. One could have a football match in the hall. But the rooms are comparablyy small (Or maybe just mine) And the thundering sound from the hall (Subway-music) could be heared - LOUD - all night in my room. And the turning door at the entrance is a bit freaky: (It changes turning speed suttenly) In the evening several people were squeezed in by the moving door, and myself was knocked out in the morning. The staff from the reception did not move, when they saw me knocked to the ground. I dont think I will risk another stay at that hotel, as impressive as it is.

Very modern and sleek hotell. My room had a quite scary dogs head, complete with hat, sunglasses and pipe, as decoration on the wall. Gave me a bit of CCTV feeling and being overlooked. Bedside table had just a very small flat surface, the rest was rods of metal. Perfect for loosing anything you might place on the table, like your wedding ring. This brings me to one of my very strong opinions, lightning. This hotel has several LED light sources, all with rather low lumen rating. To make things worse, they all have nice looking, but thick shades on them. Perfect for reducing the lightning even further. How does the cleaning staff perform their job in low light? How do we guest check the cleaning? If you're here for a conference, make sure not to bring any work back to the room. The work space is very limited and the chair is made of 100 % plastic. Suggestion, reduce the sweat factor by placing a towel on the chair if you plan on using it for a longer period of time. The hotel itself has excellent views of the harbour and the water ways. Estimate 10-15 min walk to the town center. Good and friendly staff.

I asked for a quiet room with nice view and was given the closest room to the lifts and with no view on the fjords. The bed sheets had such a powerful and unpleasant washing liquid smell that I must assume they had not been rinsed well. Room was very dark with not enough lighting. Full breakfast on Sunday only starts at 8am.

The Clarion Hotel Trondheim is really very good. The reception staff are very friendly. The rooms are great, and the internet is good. The breakfast buffet is superb, with lots of choice. The breakfast area did get wildly busy on the Saturday morning we were there, but otherwise no problem getting a table. We would have liked a bit more help/information regarding tourist attractions/trips/things to do etc. Overall, this is an excellent choice for Trondheim.

I recently stayed at the Choice Hotel in Trondheim, very pleased with my stay. The hotel is well located on the habour, with nice views of the sea and inner habour. Reception and staff very friendly and accomodating, and breakfast buffet good quality with good selection of warm and cold choices. Room comfortable and had relevant facilities readily accessible. Gym was affiliate thus not part of the hotel, but with standard ‘gym’ facilities, so better that standard typical ‘hotel minigym’ facilities. Will stay at the hotel the next time I visit.
