We stayed here one night as part of a Leger Holiday touring party of 38. When we arrived at this large concrete edifice, it was at the same time as a cycle racing team. After picking up our keys in the industrial looking reception area, we were shunted, herded, directed into the lifts--some of us with suitcases, others with bicycles. Once upstairs we found our room which at first glance has an ultra modern flair about them, with sliding translucent glass doors leading to the bathroom and a translucent panel on the shower. Lots of stainless steel and sleek lines make up the furnishings. However, the rooms are tiny with no where to put our suitcases except on the bed or the floor and was reminiscent of a uni dorm room. We were here on a half board basis. The basement restaurant which was again all concrete was much like many university refectories. Food was fine although nothing special.

Hi Oakworthgirl! Thank you for your kind feedback! The universities you’re thinking of must be really cool! Our building is actually a historical building, protected by Norwegian heritage. It was built by the famous architect Erling Viksjø (pronounced Veekschou, sorry for the funny Norwegian letter ø). If you look up close, you will find river stones in the concrete, so it’s actually a rich variety when you come close. Seems like you might’ve been here at the same time as the race Styrkeprøven (pronounced styrkehproevehn, sorry again) went off! The lifts might be a bit tight for several people, suitcases and bikes (thank god we have four of them), but we’re glad the ride to your room went ok :) Hope we get to welcome you back at another time, we highly recommend trying out the Top Floor Restaurant & Bar. Hi dimitriostraveler! Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you experienced that your room wasn’t clean. We’re going to take this up with the housekeeping-department and go over our routines. There seems to have been a misunderstanding with the larger group booking, as some were booked through the reception, through our external channels and through our contact person. Unfortunately this led to misunderstandings in the reception. As we see the payment was cleared and paid by the company as planned, so we’re glad that the issue has been resolved. Well, I'm spoiled.. I admit it. So, staying in a suite as we did this time I had my hopes up high. Staff was nice. Lobby looks okay and fresh. Dinning room looks more simple and a bit worn and dirty. Breakfast was okay plus. Good choices on the buffet. So to the room. It's spacious. Bathtub and shower, both seperated from the toilet. Large comfy bed. The drawback for me was I felt it was a bit unclean and both room and furniture is quite worn and torn. It's time to renew some things for sure.

We'll definitely keep your review in mind going over our new projects for the autumn and winter. Hope we get to welcome you back once more as soon as we're "done" perfecting our hotel! The hotel was the selected for a sporting event. It was located in a run down industrial estate. There are no shops or restaurants accessible nearby. On arriving at the hotel, there was no visible seating areas, restaurants or bar. Upon checking in the reception staff did not inform me of there being a restaurant available nor was it well marked or signage in the reception area. It was only after the event I was informed by someone who had previously stayed there that there was a bar and restaurant. I noticed a number of guests ordering pizza which was delivered at the entrance of the hotel. The rooms and common areas were dated. There was a lack of furnitures in each room. Breakfast was of an ok quality. The Gluten-free option was ok, but could definitely be improved. I would not travel her by choice again.

Hi Evy M! Thank you for your constructive feedback! After seeing your review we've increased the visible marketing informing about our Top Floor Restaurant & Bar, alongside the posters we already had in the elevators and the signage in the reception. I've also reminded the reception to inform every guest of our facilities. You're also of course welcome to enjoy a beverage in our lobby, with several seating areas, as well as a shuffleboard-table if you're feeling competitive. :) We're always working to get even better, and that includes of course our breakfast. We came from Iceland with a group of young gymnast’s competing. The hotel is in middle of nowhere, only possible to buy something at the hotel on overpriced prices. Poor service in receiption, hotel manager mrs Annelie was very rude and did not fix the rate/offer the group had got before entering and did nothing to assist to get it fixed. WE live on the 21st century and you could easily fixed what we talked to you about at the front desk and refund us and charge correct price but NO you did not. Do not bother to make excuses for your LAIM service. Our group and all groups from now on from Iceland will never stay with you again THAT’s a promise. Rooms were by the way TERRIBLE.

Hi 766rakel_, thank you so much for your review. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. On the other hand we do feel that this don’t really give a full spectrum of the situation. When traveling in a group we always provide a specific reference-number to be used for further bookings; when these are missing we unfortunately can’t see that you’re part of a larger group booking, and will therefore provide an individual offer. The offer sent was accepted in writing by your contact person. It is very unfortunate to hear that you thought I was rude, even tough you never spoke to me in person. I know that you talked to several of my serviceminded colleges, and it is unfair to call them rude, just beacuse they didn't change the prices on the spot. As you also describe, we did have a signed contract to commit to.
